ics Limited and is part of the Mr Numbervator series. This comic can be used by schools in order to make learning Mathematics fun and exciting, and to keep kids engaged in Maths.

What the story is about

The story is that Mr Numbervator and his gang must stop the plans of the sinister Angler the Tangler and save the children he has kidnapped from the Angleverse, a realm that is ruled by the power of angles.

Angler The Tangler

This is where the gang are forced to fight Angler the Tangler in his own dimension and solve his deadly riddles. They then come face-to-face with the Mr Numbervator of this dimension, called Mr Numbertaker, who causes all kinds of trouble in what is sure to be their hardest mission yet.

Angler the Tangler

One part of this book that I liked is the antagonist Angler the Tangler, and how he is designed to look like a cross between a punk rocker and a fisherman.

I interviewed Dean and Paul about him and they told me that he, like the other adults in the show, was based on the teachers they had in life, good or bad. In particular, Angler the Tangler was based on a real-life teacher of the illustrator who was not very nice to him when he was 18 years of age.

He wore actual fishing boots and his clothes were inspired by Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols. I thought this was interesting because the story has real-life teachers behind it, and some of the bad guys are based on bad teachers and how not to teach students.

The action

Another thing I liked about this book is how action-packed it is, as well as how the action is presented compared to the previous books.

The action sequences are more intense than ever and feature the most powerful villains so far. This makes the comic feel bigger and more dramatic, while still keeping the educational side of the story connected to the adventure.

What could be improved

However, one thing I think could be improved is that I felt the Operators, Adam Up, Maya Nisz, Dee Vide and Molly Polly T-Cation, did not have as much to do in this issue and felt rather sidelined.

I think that the Operators should have had more to do in this issue because of them being so connected to the subject. Since the story is about angles and Mathematics, it would have been good to see them play a bigger part in solving the problems and helping Mr Numbervator.

Final thoughts

I believe that this book is an excellent way to help kids become more interested in Maths and learn about it in a fun and yet educational way.

It can help kids get more engaged in learning as well as stories. Overall, Mr Numbervator: Amazing Angles is a strong comic because it combines action, humour, real-life inspiration and Mathematics in a way that feels exciting for young readers.
